In the Tantric tradition of Tibetan Buddhism there exist a special method to dissipate interferences and to liberate all living beings from any form of fear and danger. This method permits us to embody the pure crystal energy of the female divinity called Tara, also known as the Liberator and Swift heroine. The special energy of Tara is the key to overcome all our outer, inner and secret fears. Tara was in fact a real person. She was known as princess Wisdom Moon (Yeshe Dawa in Tibetan), and like all other people she experienced many outer, inner and secret fears. Princess Wisdom Moon was very interested in spiritual development and for this reason she frequently practiced meditation. Tara is called the Swift Heroine as she quickly removes our problems and fears and fulfils all our wishes and desires. We can nurture ourselves wwith spiritual energy through mantras: in the energetic quality of theur sacred sounds. In Buddhist meditation, we work more with sounds and images rather than the concept of words. This is due to the fact that words stimulate the conceptual mind while sounds and images "touch"the mind. The force of the healing power of a mantra also depends on the intension of those who recite a mantra reveals their spiritual evolution. A person can recite mantras to aquire material goods and personal power. However the strength will be much bigger when he/.she recites it to develop compassion and love, because this is the original force of the mantra. For centuries, mantras have been used in spiritual practices to focus and change the subtle energy. The healing energies brought about by the sounds of a mantra are inherent to the psyche. In the Buddhist tradition, these positive forces are featured as deities: manifestations of a transforming force that is inside our minds. Reciting its mantra helps us eliminate internal interferences such as fear and resentment. It brings us protection, fait and courage. The practice of reciting mantras is especially valuable nowedays, because it is simple and direct. All we need to do is relax as much as possible while we repeat rhythmically the syllables of the mantra, out loud or silently. The text from the 21 Tara Prayers are printed in the booklet.
